Distance Reiki is when the practitioner is in another physical space than the receiver. Preferably, you have a space where you will have quiet, and be undisturbed, warm, and comfortable. You can be lying down or sitting. Usually Reiki is very relaxing, and you may even fall asleep. The important factor is that you will not be disturbed and you are safe and comfortable. We will communicate online. After you schedule your appointment, you will be sent a confirmation email which includes the link to the Google Meet meeting that will be our session. I prefer that we both remain on the call for the duration of the session, but I am aware there are some practitioners who will chat by phone only before and after the session. This is entirely valid, but as I only provide Distance sessions, I prefer that the first session at least is done completely over a video call. For more information on how Distance Reiki works, check out the blog on this site where I intend to address more in-depth those kind of issues. But basically, a Reiki practitioner who has been attuned by a Reiki Master to do Distance sessions is able to provide Reiki from a different location than the receiver.

Also, when you schedule, you will receive an email containing a Consent Form which you will need to sign and return. This can all be done online, whether you are on a computer, tablet, or smartphone. This might seem off-putting, but it is a legal agreement which is designed for the protection of the practitioner and the receiver alike.
General Reiki sessions will consist of a brief intake conversation where your goals, symptoms and reasons for the session will be clarified. I will generally review with you whether or not you have experienced Reiki before, and answer any other questions you may have. You will get comfortable, and the session will begin with a brief guided meditation. I will provide calming music during the meeting. You are encouraged to relax and simply be aware of your body and mind, and enjoy the session. After 30 minutes of Reiki energy being channeled to you, we will check in again. You will be able to ask any other questions and give feedback or discuss. You are always able to end the session at any time if desired.
Chakra Balancing Reiki sessions will be identical, but the music played will be specifically chosen to address each Chakra, and the intention we set will be specifically focused on the Chakras. For Crystal Reiki, I will use crystals to amplify or strengthen the energy. If you schedule a Crystal Reiki session, and you have crystals, you are encouraged to place them on your chakras. There will be some discussion prior to the Crystal Reiki session which will help us to clarify if there are any blocked or over-active chakras, and we will proceed accordingly.
Animal Reiki is a session for your animal, whether it is a pet, a cat, dog, bird, or horse. You will be giving me permission to provide Reiki energy for the animal. Like the other sessions, we will discuss any presenting problems or symptoms before the session, and review after the session. The animal does not have to be present, but it would be helpful if you are with the animal and can monitor their behaviors. At the very least is would be helpful for you to provide a picture of the animal, and their name. Some animals will relax during the session. Any responses you see from the animal can be discussed, either at the end of the session or at follow up sessions. Of course, you are always free to end a session at any time. Any animal who is in need of emergency care is not appropriate for Reiki until they are in a stable condition.
I am currently the sole practitioner at ReikiSue4u, and I have been attuned at the Master level in Usui Ryoho Reiki. I received my training from a qualified Reiki Master, and began with Usui Reiki, after which I was trained in Animal Reiki, and then I added Crystal Reiki training.
